Smt. Supriya Sule, MP Inaugurated “DEEPOSTAV” SHG Exhibition.
The Maharashtra State Co-op. Bank Ltd., and NABARD jointly sponsored “DEEPOSTAV” exhibition on 2 nd November, 2007. Exhibition was inaugurated by Smt. Supriya Sule, Honble Member of Parliament at the premises of The Maharashtra State Co-op. Bank Ltd., Vashi Extn. Counter, APMC Market, Navi Mumbai admeasuring 4500 sq. ft. space.
Econimically weaker self help groups participated with their quality products. This exhibition held between 2 to 5 th November, 2007. To give an opportunity to SHG groups to market their products. The Maharashtra State Co-op Bank has organized this exhibition to encourage and help financially weaker self help groups.

Manikrao Patil MSCB Chairman
In the board meeting of The Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank Ltd (MSCB) held in Sahakar Sabhagruh of the bank today, i.e. on 29th September 2007, Mr Manikrao Patil was unanimously re-elected Chairman of the bank and Mr Nilesh alias Balasaheb Sarnaik was unanimously elected Vice-Chairman of the bank for the forthcoming year.
Mr Manikrao Patil is an Engineer by profession and represents urban co-operative banks in Pune region on the board of MSCB. He is a veteran co-operator and was the Chairman of Sangli District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd, from 1997 to 1999. During his first term as Chairman of MSCB, Mr Patil gave new dimension to the working of the bank. In the last financial year MSCB's NPA reduced substantially, while its deposits and lendings showed a marked rise.
Mr Patil is a versatile person closely associated with social and cultural field.
Mr Nilesh alias Balasaheb Sarnaik is the Director of MSCB and is well versed with Marathi, Hindi and English language. He hails from Kolhapur District.
At present he is the Director of MHADA (Pune) and Chairman of the Western Maharashtra Regional Board of MSCB. He is doing his best to help the co-operative institutions in Western Maharashtra which are in difficulty.

Visit of Chairman, NABARD to our bank on 09/07/2007
Chairman of NABARD Dr. YSP Thorat was present at the Board meeting of
The Maharashtra State Co-op Bank Ltd.,(MSCB) held on 9th july. He was welcomed bt the MSCB Chairman Mr. Manikrao Patil.
During the welcome speech Mr. Manikrao Patil apprised NABARD's Chairman of the latest schemes launched and measures initiated by MSCB.
Dwelling at length on the subjects Mr. Patil mentioned of micro finance
to Self Help Groups to start projects ans said the Bank has placed at the disposal of SHG's its premises at APMC, Navi Mumbai to enable them to market their products and to organise exhibitions for the same if necessary. He also inducted in his brief the success achieved by the Bank in curtailing deficit in margin, while the prices of sugar were falling, decreasing NPA per cent of the Bank, decision of the prices of the Bank to provide NABARD's Rs.1500 crore short term agricultural refinance to District Banks without any interest margin and share deductions. Mr. Patil concluded by urging NABARD to provide refinance at 2.5% for the current season also, in view of the fact that MSCB itself has provided crop loan without any margin in spite of innumerable difficulties before it.
In his reply, NABARD's Chairman, Dr. YSP Thorat congratulated the MSCB Chairman and his colleagues for the Bank's improved performance. In this context, Mr. Thorat made special mention to the Bank's decreased NPA, increase in Bank's deposits & advances and decrease in Bank's management and risk costs. Mr. Thorat also reminded of Vaidyanathan Committee. Therefore, to get the financial assistance under the recommendations, the Bank should follow-up on this matter with the concerned authority. He also suggested that a committee at the level of NABARD and MSC Bank Board should be formed to decide the type of pakage required for ailing sugar factories and its report should be presented to NABARD within a week. Mr. Thorat also assured that NABARB would help MSCB in every possible way and revealed that efort is on to provide agricultural refianance at 2.5% guring the ucrrent season also instead of 3%. Mr. Thorat also assured that NABARD will ensure sufficient flow of funds for short term agricultural operations.

New Extension Counter Opened At Vashi.
The extention counter of banks vashi branch at APMC Market Turbhe was inaugrated on 30.04.2007 to make available the banking facilities to the customers in that area and to facilitate the marketing of products of the SHG's with the support of NABARD.

The meeting of Hon. Chairman and CEO's of DCCB's .
The meeting of Hon. Chairman and CEO's of DCCB's in Maharashtra was held to discuss the financial planning for year 2007-08 on 30 April 2007. Hon. Chairman presided over the meeting and the innovative policy decisions taken by the MSCB were explained to the representatives in meeting. further the DCCB's were advised to observe the financial disipline and reduce their dependancy on MSCB.

Samriddhi Yojana:
In view of the stiff competition in the banking sector,
our Bank commenced individual loaning under 'Samriddhi
Yojana' in 2004.
Under this scheme, loans are given to teachers and the
other salary earners whose salary accounts are with
us, for various prupose like, purchase of consumer goods,
for own marraige, marraige of a progeny, higher education
of a son/daughter or a foreign/domestic tour etc. The
rate of interest charged is 10.5% per annum.
'Griha-Swapnapurti Yojana':
This is a housing loan scheme started recently by out
Bank for our Clients. Under this scheme, loans upto
Rs. 15.00 lac are available, for a period varying from
5 to 20 years as per requirements of the borrowers.
The rate of interest varies from 7.25% to 8.5% per annum.
Conference of District & Urban Co-oprative
Banks:
The Central Government has appointed 'Task Force Commitee'
under the chairmanship of Prof. Vaidyanath, as part
of its efforts to revitalise the rural co-operative
credit structure, particularly District & State
Co-operative Banks. Reserve Bank of India , on the other
hand, has initiated measures to prepare 'Vision Document'
for Urban Co-operative Banks. On this background, our
Bank organised a state-level conference of district
& Urban Co-operative Banks in P.L Deshpande Maharashtra
Kala Academy, Prabhadevi, Mumbai on 15.04.2005.
In the conference , various aspects of these topics
were discussed in detail. Hon'ble Chairman of our Bank
Shri. Shivram B. Jadhav presided over this conference
inaugrated by Hon'ble Central Minister for Agriculture
Shri. Sharadchandra Pawar. Hon'ble Minister for Co-operative
Shri Patangrao Kadam and Hon'ble Minister of state for
Co-operative Shri. Jayprakash Dandegaonkar graced the
conference and expressed their views candidly.
Shri. R. Bhaskaran, CEO Indian Institute of Banking
& Finance and Shri. Vishwas Nitsure, Ex-Deputy General
Manager, Reserve Bank of India, presented the paper
on 'Task Force' and 'Vision Document' respectively.
MSCB Provides Franking Facility:
The Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank ltd. Has started government of maharashtra approved franking service for the payment of stamp duty on Wednesday, 29 th june 2005. It was inaugurated by the chairman of the bank Shri. Shivram B. Jadhav in the presence of vice chairman Shri. Arvind Poreddiwar an other directors. While inaugurating the franking service, chairman appealed to co-operative institutions and the citizens to avail of this facility at the bank’s head office. |
